Deleting Chord Notation/Expression on one Part

I'm trying to get Musescore 4.0 to export midi for a single part without exporting the realization of the chord symbols. When a create a separate part and then remove the chord symbols, MS seems to remove the chord symbols from the entire score, not just the part I wish to export MIDI from without chord expression. I can temporarily delete chords symbols from score - do export of MIDI and then undelete chord symbols, but this seems silly. Better (more permanent) way of deleting chord symbols from only one part?
