Strings and Percussion Sound Different Since 4.5.2

One of my biggest complaints with musescore's strings since i downloaded musescore last year was the extremely heavy legato and vibrato. This is better suited long, drawn out passages found in cinematic or late 19th-20th century music, but makes finer diminutions that require carity, like those in pre-19th century music, extremely muddy and sloppy sounding. It was unfortunate but I resigned myself to using other programs for my music in pre-19th century style, and on musescore I just wrote stuff that catered to the strengths of the strings musescore offered.

When I updated to 4.5.2, however, I noticed that the strings sounded a little bit different. They were suddenly better at retaining clarity during sixteenth note runs, repeated notes, etc. This was great, but when i went back to the pieces i had written to sound good with the musescore strings from before the update, some of the life was taken out of them. The previous strings had been adding an "oomph" factor that was now missing.

So, I uninstalled 4.5.2 and installed 4.5.1. Hooray, the strings were fixed! Only then i discovered that all my percussion parts were in ms basic, with no other option available in the mixer. Looking it up, it would appear that muse percussion didn't come out until 2025. However there's this one piece of mine I wrote in 2024, and I remember for a fact that the triangle sounded good, not like how it sounds now that it's ms basic.

I'd like to be able to choose between 4.5.2 strings and 4.5.1 strings in the mixer. I think other instruments were affected too, like french horn and clarinet (it could've just been all the brass and winds), so I'd like to be able to choose between those as well.

But my main problem is the percussion. What happened? I know I'm not misremembering how my pieces sounded, so how is it possible that before 2025 there was only ms basic? Was there another soundfont for percussion that I'm missing? Please help
