Music output and Steelseries

• May 22, 2025 - 07:21

Hi. I am playing audio out of my musescore file and it sounds normal (like the audio here https://musescore.com/user/32966272/scores/21415282)
When I select the audio output as steelseries gaming (spatial audio with 100% immersion on headphone mode) and load the score no sound comes out. I switch the sound output back to my headphone and the musescore's sound output is lowered by an octave and the tempo gets set to 0.5 speed. The sound of the instruments becomes detailed, darker, more eerie, and I like this, but it appears as a bug.

Hopefully this can become more of an official feature, as I really like this sound. Note that the audio by me has copyright.

I'm no help at audio settings, but you can attach any kind of file if you need to: ZIP it and attach the .ZIP file.

I do know that you should never change your audio device while MuseScore is running. For example, switching from speakers to headphones. Instead, exit MuS completely, change the physical device, launch MuS again, and the new device will (usually?) work normally. Apparently this is true of many/most notation applications *shrug*

I hope that someone can help.

Indeed. Don't change audio output devices while MuseScore is running. I don't k now about most notation programs. I know My older copy of Sibelius does this. I think someone said Dorico has no problem. Doesn't make any difference. Just don't do it. There have been situations where MuseScore crashed while doing this and the score was lost.
