Music crashed and deleted itself
I was working on some music and it crashed when I tried to add a 2/4 measure. I didn't save because I was still working on it. Is there any way to get it back?

It's not clear to me but it sounds like you hadn't saved anything yet. If you have saved it once, look for a hidden sub-directory (possibly in the folder you were working in) named ".mscbackup" (with the dot.) Assuming Auto-Save is turned on (I think the default is to save every 5 minutes), you may find a file with the prefix the same as your saved file but with the extension ".mscz~". Rename that to ".mscz" and you'll be back in business.
But if you haven't saved it at all yet, I don't think Auto-Save kicks in, and there's no recovering. That's why I always save my new score immediately after creating it, even if I haven't entered anything yet.

I never saved it. I exported an early version of it to midi, so I can probably work from there to rebuild it.

That's good. At least you have a head start at recreating it. In my limited experience, importing MIDI still takes a lot of clean-up work, but it might be better than starting from scratch.
"I didn't save because I was still working on it"
This is why the correct action is "Save early! Save often!"
When I create a new score, I Save it, yes, empty. I usually Save at least every five minutes and I Save As about every 20-30 minutes while I'm working. That way there's always an earlier point to go back to.
Going forward, the following thread post describes @yonah_ag's folder structure (and now, mine, too) for file versioning. This might help if the problem arises in the future. (Sadly, if you're not already doing it, it cannot help NOW.)

It's possible (not certain) that the following two items might help you in finding backup files (if they exist)
How to recover a backup copy of a score
How to recover a backup copy of a score (1.x)
Good luck!!!

Sorry i didn't know that an autosave doesn't happen unless you save; I'm really new to musescore and didn't know. I will make sure to save a ton though!

Never trust to autosave! (And I mean by that, don't trust it in any software!) It's nice if it works, but your explicit saves are going to rescue you when something unusual happens. Always assume the worst will happen. Because the prime law of the universe is Murphy's :-)

For those whose native language is not English:
Murphy's Law
"A supposed law of nature, expressed in various humorous popular sayings, to the effect that
anything that can go wrong will go wrong."

Have a look at the paragraph here regarding using musescore.com for score versioning / recovery. This could help you in the future.
