Version 4.5: ties over rests not working anymore
Prior to version 4.5 I used to be able to tie two notes that were separated by a rest.
Now I can't, I really need this feature. Please help. Last version that worked was v4.4.4

Hard to tell from a picture (append the mscz-file!) but i guess you use 2-3 different voices in your example.
The tied notes are in one voice and the rests are in another voice.
See https://handbook.musescore.org/basics/editing-notes-and-rests#adding-ti… and, in particular, the last paragraph of that section.

thanks, Steve.
seems like this is a new feature in v4.5. I now have to select both notes then click tie. works fine.

Wait. I can set up the scenario in the OP image and don't have to select both notes

4.5.2.

Ok, as an example, on version 4.5.2 I create a new score, choose any instrument, click done.
Add a quarter note, add a rest, add another quarter note of the same pitch. I click on the first note then click tie - nothing happens. I have to select both notes then click tie.
On version 4.4 it worked as expected.

I always thought you had to select both notes. I always selected both notes. LOL

As stated earlier, it can be done if the tied notes are in one voice and the rest is in another. I can't say it is worth it. I'd hsve to see an actual score.
