Why today MuseScore 4.5.2 is not "compatible" with Audio Jack Connections Tool?

• May 12, 2025 - 05:22

I use Ubuntu Studio 24.04.2 LTS and MuseScore 3.6.2, normally.
But, I have been testing MuseScore 4.5.2 AppImage and I discovered that the new version is not compatible with the standard Jack Audio capabilities (like synchro starting with other apps).
I often write vocal arrangements (mostly male quartet) with prerecorded audio instrumental tracks. Even the fact MuseScore doesn't have any kind of audio facilities, I can synchronize both audio and MIDI through Jack Audio Connections Tool.
Let me explain how:
1) You have an score with MuseScore.
2) You have an audio track and use it with Qtractor (and audio/MIDI kind of DAW).
3) You configure Qtractor to play as an slave machine. Of course, MuseScore will be the "master" machine.
4) You start to play your score inside MuseScore and... MAGIC!!! Qtractor starts to play the audio, full synchronized with your work.
This is possible thanks Jack Audio Connections Tool.
Well, I can do it with 3.6.2. But... Now, I CANNOT to do it with 4.5.2, because the last version doesn't have any kind of parameter related with Jack.
Why not?
Will we have to wait about some future change about this? ???
