Musescore playback distorted after changing sample rate of sound card

• Jun 14, 2024 - 15:50

I'm running Musescore version MuseScore-Studio- and I have a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 sound card. I was playing around with sample rates yesterday, and after changing it and then reverting back to the default (48Khz), Musescore's playback appears to be permanently distorted. It plays back at a much higher tempo and pitch. So far I've tried:

Clean reinstallation of Musescore;
Resetting Musescore to it's default settings;
Installing an older version of Musescore.

The weird thing is that when I use a different audio output, such as my headphones, this issue does not apply to the other audio source, only my sound card. Additionally, when I export to mp3, the recording sounds fine on my sound card so the issue seems to be the playback feature.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re-install almost never works. While you were changing the hz, you also need to turn of exclusive mode. How do your computer specs match up with the specs on the MuseScore download page?
