So far, I have upgraded to MuseScore 2.3, and the Violin Sound in MuseScore General is STILL the FluidR3 Violin Sound.

It would be nice if we would please use my Violin SoundFont to replace the Violin Sound in MuseScore General as well as the Fiddle and Slow Violin Presets. The Samples that I recorded are Minor Thirds, and they are free to use as a CC0 Licensed SoundFont. So Feel-free to adjust it in Polyphone before adding it to the MuseScore General SoundFont!

Title Please use My Violin SoundFont for the MuseScore General SoundFont?! Investigate using Arianna's Violin SoundFont for MuseScore_General
Type Graphical (UI) Functional

It's very difficult to create an all-purpose violin synthesizer. Yours is effective for fast, loud, energetic pieces, but simply not designed to be used for anything sweet, slow, and/or lyrical. Compare these examples exported from MuseScore—though the default sounds like a lower-quality recording, it's a very appropriate violin sound, and has the necessary attribute of working well for almost any type of piece.

Updates to MuseScore_General.sf3 will be an ongoing project.

Due to issues of licensing, flexibility (as Isaac mentioned), balance/blend and a number of other technical challenges we have determined that users can be best supported with a soundfont that is redesigned and developed from end to end by a professional virtual instrument designer.

I did check out your violin soundfont and it is really quite nice. We need to look at the soundfont as a whole, however, and will need consistency across all other samples, articulations, timbre, etc. for all other instruments in the string section, not just a really great violin sound.

You should expect to see continued improvements here with the release of 3.0.

Even if we can't include this in MuseScore_General.sf3, do keep up the great work and keep sharing! It is great to see/hear!
